 JOB TITLE:  Vice President of Finance & Administration (CFO)

 SUPERVISOR:  President (CEO)

 SUPERVISES:  Member Service Supervisors and their staff, Accounting Representatives, Phone Representative

JOB STATEMENT: As part of the senior management team, must play a significant role in the creation of strategic plans and objectives for the organization.  Responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and leading the accounting and finance operations, and ensuring the financial soundness of the Credit Union. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead, guide, review and monitor all accounting staff and their functions to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements
  • Lead, guide, review, monitor, coordinate all member service supervisors and their functions
  • Asset/Liability Management monitoring capital adequacy, asset quality, and liquidity.
  • Deposit pricing and collaborate in loan pricing strategy
  • Management of investments to achieve maximum profitability that provide liquidity and safety
  • Work with CEO in preparing the yearly budget
  • Attend monthly board meetings, prepare and present a monthly financial summary and balance sheet and give updates on other projects
  • Work with the management team in developing new projects
  • Management of Human Resources including the hiring of employees, employee benefits, member benefits, and training.
  • Assist with the marketing of products and services to the current staff, membership, and potential members and businesses
  • Represent the Credit Union at various functions
  • Set goals and targets for accounting and member service staff
  • Develop and implement plans, products and functions for the accounting staff
  • Assist IT/Compliance officer with technical, data processing, e commerce, security and policies.
  • Work with the VP of Lending on research and implementation of various lending products and procedures to maintain financial soundness
  • Management of the physical branch location and other branches/offices as needed
  • Other various functions as assigned by the CEO

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and understanding of a financial institution and in-depth understanding of strategic finance and accounting principles.
  • Experience and thorough understanding Asset Liability Management, Investment Management, Financial Analysis
  • Proven management, communication, strategic planning, and analytical skills.
  • Proven past successes with goals met or exceeded
  • Proven implementation of new products, services and/or processes in previous employment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related curriculum

  • Ability to publicly speak to groups, businesses or employees
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, examiners, auditors, members, vendors and others in relation to the Credit Union.
  • Willingness to support  team cooperation throughout all areas of the Credit Union and assist and or lead in all departments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
