eDOC Innovations and CU*Answers have completed deployment of eDOC’s CheckLogic Manager item processing platform for in-clearing and two-day check processing for CU*Answers customers nationally. The partnership is the latest in a series of CUSO-to-CUSO agreements for eDOC, and further builds on the cuasterisk.com collaboration and operational processing network.

“This partnership is a template for CUSO-to-CUSO collaboration, benefiting credit unions nationally through economies of scale and innovative technology,” said Bret Weekes, President and CEO of eDOC Innovations. “CU*Answers has demonstrated its leadership in advocating CUSO collaboration historically, and this is further evidence of their commitment to this type of collaboration, which is vitally important to the industry and builds a template for sustainable innovation that ultimately benefits member owners.”

Randy Karnes, CEO of CU*Answers added, “People are starting to put all the pieces back together again. Check21 and transacting based on images of checks gave us dozens of ways to work with members via a check. From teller capture, to RDC, to check enabled ATMs, to the meat and potatoes of check clearings, new wrinkles have been added over the years, but now it is becoming clear that all of these solutions need connectivity and some back office vision of each other.” Karnes continued, “As volumes for checks fall off, their needs to be a solution that can scale from one organization tackling the issues for themselves to networks who tackle these problems for hundreds of credit unions at a time. We call it core image processing and eDOC gets it.”

In an area of credit union operations that is overlooked these days, driving innovation is still possible. “CheckLogic is evidence of innovation benefiting credit unions through a comprehensive check processing system built on the framework of digital transaction management, which we know is critical to sustainability for the future. We are passionate about giving credit unions the tools they need to stay relevant,” comments Weekes.

“Moving in this direction we now can leverage eDOC talents all the way to the edge (the member) and back to the basics (member clearing processes) all on one platform – all of our investments bundled to make a difference,” said Karnes. “The network effect will drive some new things for CU*Answers and all of its customer-owners.”
